NEW KID ON THE BEACH You're sipping a mojito on the wooden deck of a breezy outdoor bar, funk and house music pulsating from the DJ booth nearby. In front of you stretches a spotless palm-fringed beach thronged with bikini-clad babes and their equally gorgeous escrots. The vibe says Ibiza, but the nonstop procession of supertankers and freighters crisscrossing the near horizon will remind you quickly enough that you're on Singapore's Sentosa Island, at a place called Km8 (Tannjong Beach; 65/6274-3388). Opening in January by the owners of the Liquid Room (a swinging downtown club at the Gallery Hotel, eight kilometers away, Km9 has a laid-back, beach-shack feel (distressed woods, a soaking pool on the main deck), good music and great drinks--all of which have given the city-state a reason to start partying before sunset.
